Conscious Step meets three of the IMPACT Requirements: Materials, Acts of Kindness, and Charitable Proceeds.
Conscious Step’s brand mission is to achieve a tangible impact through their products. For every pair of socks purchased, Conscious Step donates directly to one of 16 non-profits supporting causes such as poverty, breast cancer, disaster relief, and more.
In 2013, founders Prashant Mehta, Hassan Ahmand, and Adam Long were concerned with the lack of awareness facing the world’s largest issues. So, they sought to creatively find a recognizable and tangible way for a conscious individual to provide a helping hand to solve global issues. Why not socks? And Conscious Step was born.
By practicing mindful manufacturing, Conscious Step’s products are sourced from organic cotton and are made sustainably in India while supporting small cotton farmers. All their raw materials in their supply chain are GOTS and Vegan certified. Beyond their socks, Conscious Step ensures an ethical workplace and social impact. For example, they are Fairtrade Certified—promoting a workplace that complies with minimum wage, says no to child labor, offers overtime compensation and freedom of association for workers.
