Elate Cosmetics meets three of the IMPACT Requirements: Individual Responsibility, Materials, and Charitable Proceeds.

In 2014, Melodie Reynolds founded Elate Cosmetics in Canada. With hopes to transform the tedious makeup routine she followed into something more special, Melodie chose to research into sustainable makeup options. Since then, Elate Cosmetics was established as a brand that empowered women and created products that were sustainably and ethically made. Elate Cosmetics firmly believes in conscious beauty, emphasizing self-care and confidence in one’s own skin. Moreover, they commit 2% of their sales to charitable organizations each year through their Social and Environmental Impact services.

All products are cruelty-free, healthy, vegan, and sustainably packaged. In fact, Elate Cosmetics aims to become the world’s first waste-free cosmetics company; right now, they are sitting at around 75% waste-free in their packaging. The packaging is made from natural materials like glass and bamboo to ensure multiple uses and a refillable range. The refills come in an unique plastic-free seed paper envelope which can be planted to grow beautiful wild flowers!

Their raw materials are sourced from suppliers that comply with the eco-friendly practices of Elate Cosmetics. For instance, Bamboo is a natural resource from China supplied by a certified green and fair trade manufacturer. With 90% organic raw ingredients and fair trade, Elate Cosmetics replaces harsh chemicals with ingredients at the heart of nature like mica, shea butter and coconut, which each have unique health and skin benefits.
