Harvesting Happiness meets two of the IMPACT Requirements: Individual Responsibility and People.
Harvesting Happiness began in 2014 and became an official non profit organization founded by Brennan McMillan, Pennsylvania, and Emily Keller, Vermont. Seeking to empower the community of Santa Maria de Jesus, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala, Harvesting Happiness began as its founders were living in the community and wanted to meet needs one person at a time. Today, Harvesting Happiness now serves thousands of people annually and their feeding program for the elderly provided over 27,000 meals in 2016, and has grown to provide over 50,000 meals in 2017.
With the overall goal to empower a community by forming genuine relationships through which people can receive the help they need, Harvesting Happiness aims to create and manifest a safe environment where all are able to find physical, emotional, and spiritual support.
