Pela’s mission is to manifest a future that is 100% waste-free. With their phone cases, Pela’s products are 100% compostable, designed beautifully, and eco-friendly. They want their customers to pledge to keep our planet as clean as possible while protecting their mobile and electronic devices. As of now, Pela has kept more than around 350,000 pounds of plastic from ever being produced—that’s massive. Pela has also been the first company to introduce the World’s First Compostable Band for Apple Watch. Items such as the compostable band as well as all the other products by Pela ensure a sustainable lifestyle and an ethical manufacturing process—all for the environment’s good.
Founded in 2010, Jermely Lang saw the first hand pollution of plastic waste in our oceans while on vacation in Hawaii. Disgusted at the damage of our oceans, Jeremy began experimenting new materials to try and find alternatives to plastic that could be used in everyday products—eventually landing on electronic device cases. And so, Pela was born. Pela ensures a social and sustainable impact beyond their products. In fact, 5% of their total sales from their collections is donated to the causes that they partner with: Save The Waves Pela Cases and Surfrider Foundation x Pela Case Collection. As a brand, Pela is also Climate Neutral Certified, Certified B Corporation, and donates 1% for the Planet.
